On December 30th 2011 Marc walked into the Lunar Rouge in Fredericton and his life changed.
Seated among a group of mutual friends was this stunning lady with captivating eyes and an incredible personality. Stefanie was equally drawn to Marc, and found herself immediately smitten as Marc took the seat across from her. Over the course of the evening, not many words were exchanged between them but an indelible impression was made. Despite that Stefanie was getting ready to move to Quebec City for four months to study French, Marc tracked down Stefanie’s number and proceeded to spend the rest of his day texting with her and then arranged one more opportunity to see her before she left. It was the beginning of something beautiful.
Their first real date was two months after their initial meeting. It was February. Marc met Stefanie in Quebec City where she was living and they spent a week together exploring the old city and getting to know one another. This was when Marc fell in love with the girl who warmed his ears with her mittens and his heart with her kindness. When he came home from this life-changing trip, Marc called his mom and told her that he would be marrying Stefanie one day.
Their life together has been full of shared passions, teaching each other new things and pursuing adventure! After eight months of dating, Marc and Stefanie decided to pursue their careers and their relationship together, and moved to England! And it was before embarking on another adventure – a move back to Canada, to Northern Alberta – that Marc decided to propose.
They had talked marriage but Stefanie was still surprised when Marc proposed to her. It was a rainy yet lovely day and they were seated on a park beach over looking Parliament Hill in London. He told her the story of how he found the ring, how he told her father about his intentions to marry her and how excited her dad was; he told her how he envisioned their life together, and how she felt about her. It was sweet, and perfectly them. And course she said yes!
They told me they were goofy and loved to laugh uncontrollably together but I had know idea just how much fun their engagement session would be! These two were such a delight to photograph and even after only spending a short amount of time with them I can see all the beautiful qualities in each one that the other had boasted about. Marc loves Stefanie’s patient, kind, passionate and loyal personality, and Stephanie loves Marc’s bravery, determination and humour! She write, “He makes me want to be a better person… to capitalize on my strengths and make my weaknesses better!”
Stefanie and Marc are getting married THIS SATURDAY and if their wedding is anything like their engagement session we are all in for a great treat! Stefanie and Marc, thank you so much for choosing me as your wedding photographer, and to share your beautiful day with your family and friends!
