I always love it when a wedding day is so incredibly infused with a couple's personality. Not only do I find these days extra inspiring to photograph, but these days truly feel like a reflection of the couple, their life together and the people who have gathered to celebrate them. As was the case for Marie and Shane's sea glass-inspired wedding day in St. Andrews.
Marie and Shane traveled from Alberta to say "I do" in Shane's hometown of St. Andrews by-the-Sea. Every part of their day paid tribute to the life they have created together, and it made sense that their married life began in St. Andrews, because this was where their relationship had begun many years before.
Their ceremony took place in a friend's backyard, overlooking the bay. Shane's grandfather played piano as Marie was escorted down the aisle by their two sons. Marie's sister stood up with her while Shane's brother and best friend stood with him. And their two little pups kept the rings safe until they were called up for the ring exchange.
To celebrate their newly minted marriage, Marie and Shane hosted their wedding reception at The Kennedy Inn - St. Andrew's oldest hotel, and the perfect location for hosting an intimate wedding in the heart of St. Andrews.
Sprinkled throughout each part of the day was Marie's favourite treasure to find on the beaches in St. Andrews - sea glass. Even the cake featured candy that replicated sea glass, all of which was made by Marie.
From beginning to end, I loved every minute of photographing Marie and Shane's wedding.
