Each day your kiddos are doing
adorable things, reaching new milestones, and growing up way too fast. You want to document the simple moments as much as the big ones, but you also want to be in those photos with your children as you document their childhood.
And thirty years from now, your kids will be glad you were too.
I love nostalgic images and am inspired by the connections that parents have with their children. I love when parents focus on being in the moment with their kids and how this brings out genuine smiles, laughter and moments of tenderness that no amount planning or posing can make happen.
When I photograph your family I imagine your kids remembering their childhood through these photographs. This idea guides me as I ask, "what will mean the most to them when they are grown?"
This is why I believe so much in the importance of candidly documenting your family exactly as you are, and unposed.

Session Ideas
Just a few ideas to get you thinking for your in-home documentary session!
Baking chocolate chip cookies
Your kids will love this and I will encourage them to be as messy as possible. And, the end of the end session - everyone gets a treat!
New Baby and other milestones
new baby, first steps, last day of grade one, first day of grade twelve. These moments can define your children and I'd love to be there to document them for you.
In the garden
Endless possibilities for captivating photos of your family working together in the yard. Planting a tree - how cool to have it photographed and in thirty years when you children are adutls they can show their own kids photos of when they were small and help grandma and grandpa plant the maple tree in their backyard.
Bedtime routine
Following dinner, this session idea aims to captures the chaos and the sweet moments of your nightly bedtime routine with kids (cleaning-up, brushing teeth, bed time stories, cuddle with mom or dad, jumping on the bed. This one is usually best planned for a Friday night!
Sandcastle building at the cottage
be in the moment with your kids as they build the most epic sandcastle on the beach near your cottage, and I'll be there to photograph it all.

there was a small trout farm near where I grew-up and my dad would take my brothers and me there every summer. my mom would come if she wasn't working. i would give anything to have some photo documentation of this.
